On Jan 31st, 2015, LICT, BCC (Bangladesh Computer Council) launched two IT/ ITES skills Training Projects to create a pool of quality manpower, enhance employability, meet objectives of Digital Bangladesh and accelerate revenues through exports.
Top Up IT Training Program (CSE /Engineering graduates with programming background, 300 hrs). These projects are funded by The World Bank with Ernest & Young (EY) as implementation partner.
These programs come free of cost to the students in UIU premises. The selection process involves online assessment test. The students are awarded the certificate from the Government after the successful completion of the training.
The program demands 9 to 15 hrs per week and accordingly it takes about 3.5 to 4 months to finish. The program broadly has 100 hrs of soft skills and 200 hrs of a technical module (One of these areas per batch: Java, Dot Net, Android, Big Data) The programs have been made inspirational through well designed content and experienced trainers from industry and abroad.
