I am a Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Director of the Center for IT Services (CITS), United International University (UIU).

Before joining UIU, I worked as an Associate Professor and Head (acting) at the department of Computer Science and Engineering of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), and as an Assistant Professor at the department of Computer Science and Engineering of University of Asia Pacific (UAP). I have also worked within the Information Security group at KDDI Research in Japan as post-doctoral researcher. I was a visiting professor at Bangladesh University of Professionals. I hold PhD and MSc in Information Science from Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST). I completed an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

My experience over the years, within both academia and industry, results over 60 research papers and patents on cyber security and privacy. My research ranges from secure protocol construction to security modeling in order to solve real-world problems in Cyber Security domain. I also focus on privacy as an information security paradigm in an increasingly knowledge-based connected world facilitated by the Blockchains, Smart Grid, Smart Cities, Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud Computing.

I have served as an Expert member of Japanese National Body for International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ISO/IEC JTC 1 SC 27, IT Security Techniques. I am working with the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE), Bangladesh, as a Program Evaluator. I have been providing consultancy services to both industry and academia.

I am a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR).
